Can You Take Apart A Razer Naga To Clean It

I love using my Razer Deathadder, but after many years of continuous utilise, it got really grimy.

If your mouse is not working properly, you may need to try out a few cleaning tricks to fix it.

If your mouse is not working properly, you may need to try out a few cleaning tricks to fix information technology.

What to Do If Your Mouse Stops Working

My mouse has been irritating me for a while as it was double-clicking by itself and so I decided to practise something about it as I was on the verge of launching information technology across the room and buying another.

Instead of that I started piffling with it and got it working perfectly again. Of class nowadays when I'thou virtually to take something autonomously I get the photographic camera out but in instance I can share the info on hither. Here's how to do it.

Run the blade around, blunt edge first, to pop off the top casing.

Run the blade effectually, blunt edge starting time, to pop off the pinnacle casing.

Dust.... Everyone?

Usually, if your mouse has stopped working properly information technology'south considering it has got clogged upward with dust. My Razer Deathadder is a great mouse, but the click machinery is super sensitive. That's keen when you're using it every bit but light touch clicks the button, or and then it seems, but a bit of dust in there and it seems to love to double click past itself.

Showtime things first, turn off the computer or unplug the mouse. Y'all don't desire to blow anything up.

To get inside the thing you need to become a blade in-between the casing and run it from the front all the way effectually the edge. There is no need to lever it upward, just the thickness of the blade running around it will do it.

Look at the state of that thing!

Expect at the land of that thing!

Cleanup Operation

One time you've run the blade all the fashion around there, then you can but lift the top off the thing.

And then you become to peer inside the creature. As you tin see, mine was absolutely icky and filled with dust, hair and all sorts of stuff. I get hassled at dwelling house for beingness lazy with the vacuum, well I take to admit that in this case, my married woman was right, the inside of my mouse needs a bit more regular dearest and attention.

To get on with things I got a cotton bud, some alcohol and some antibacterial spray and got busy wiping up. Run the bud around the exterior and basically anywhere that's muddied. The whole of the top of these mice is what is used to click, there isn't a carve up push, so any dust around the edge stops information technology from working properly.

Later on giving it a practiced scrub down inside I sprayed the top with antibacterial cleaner then rinsed it nether the tap.

Later that, it's simply (well I say only) a example of popping the top dorsum on without breaking whatsoever of the tabs. The best manner of doing this is to put the buttons back into position but don't push button them down all the way, then pop the back part downwardly. Then you lot can popular the push part down properly.

That's it! Information technology's about as simple a guide as you can get actually, only that's skillful as information technology means you'll be support and running in a few minutes with no need for any screwdriver activeness or any swearing. The mouse at present works perfectly again.

No need for a new mouse, I tin can now apply the coin saved on something more than useful, like another bottle of cognac or something. What a issue! If you accept any comments, leave them beneath.

Kryziven on February 21, 2018:

My mouse doesnt work anymore I can but use my left click now if I remove the top and poke information technology with a needle when the peak is yet there it makes the characteristic click sound but no clicks get registered

Ryan on Feb 14, 2018:

Didn't pause the mouse, was careful, but that second extra click still exists. Judge I need to get a hold of Razer.

Naga on February 13, 2018:

Thanks for the tips to get the example off, I would still clear up putting it dorsum on. I tried the back first and then the front end, this snapped one of the tabs, making left click unusable. To clarify, become the mouse buttons in FIRST as these are the most important and fragile, the back ones dont matter so much for usability. I would add though, after super gluing the tab back on, I got the whole thing working again just fine.

Shelley on Jan 06, 2018:

Thank you and then much this fixed my mouse. My right click was getting then jammed to a point where i thought i had to buy a new mouse. For 'Dudodian' beneath who asked what to do when you clean it and it nonetheless isn't working- at get-go I just cleaned it and information technology still felt jammed buy when I got a cotton fiber swap, put rubbing booze on it and cleaned where the actual click is on the within, in the ii small holes, my clicker is working perfectly at present. I cleaned the 2 little white clickers yous tin see on the inside.

Again thanks for this! saved me hundreds.

orthene on August 23, 2017:

Thanks so much; I wasn't sure this type of mouse could exist disassembled. Works like make new at present. You just have to be gentle when you disassemble it and accept some good lighting to line upwards the tabs before finally snapping the top back in to identify.

Unit_108 on August 14, 2016:

You accept no idea how happy I am this worked, I hitting my mouse confronting my desk a scrap also hard and the clicker didn't click right, so I only googled it and cleaned it out (as well to come across if there was anything else wrong) and information technology works like new, this really saved me because I accept a Battlefiled 4 Tournament in an hr and I almost had to drop. Cheers so much and I promise this helps others!

Dudodian on July 25, 2016:

My mouse has a weird left click that feels well-nigh jammed. I tried cleaning my mouse out as you described hither, but information technology still feels like it did before cleaning. Whatsoever suggestions on what to exercise past this?

Brook on April 05, 2016:

Followed this with a Razer Deathadder Chroma. They seem to have changed the clicker design. I got in there with the electronics cleaner and isopropyl and it seems to be still doing it from my limited testing in the double-click dialog. I recollect I'll utilize it a bit more before I make up one's mind whether to strip information technology down farther or just buy a new one.

DDz on February xv, 2015:

Caw on November 13, 2014:

Maybe you could update with a flick showing the location of the tabs and a few more words on the technique?

Pelting Defence force (author) from UK on September 29, 2014:

Information technology's not impossible as I managed it without breaking whatsoever tabs, merely information technology is tricky. All y'all have to do is take your time and do a little bit of swearing.

erock124 on September 19, 2014:

bankrupt 2 tabs as well. This is incommunicable to do without breaking a tab. mouse still works fine with 2 tabs. just notice a looser click since back acme cover isn't every bit tight held down.

Rain Defence force (writer) from UK on May 26, 2014:

Well it worked fine for me. Perhaps y'all should've been more careful.

D on May 26, 2014:

"One time you've ran the bract all the way around at that place, then you lot can simply lift the top off the matter."

Completely false. Information technology requires a considerable amount of pressure to get the clips undone, and in specific places. I'd completely advise confronting this - my mouse notwithstanding works, only one of the inner clips is now cleaved from attempting to "just lift the top off the matter".

Rain Defence (writer) from UK on January 08, 2014:

Cheers, glad it was useful!

idigwebsites from United States on January 08, 2014:
